The Impossible Year

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. I say a painting is worth a thousand experiences. Good times and bad times. High times and low times. Excitement at selling my first piece, getting my first commission, then my second and third, getting a studio space to work larger (this piece being the largest so far) all the way to investing a lot into a show with no return, feeling like I didn’t have a voice, having my home broken into while I was there (right after the big show with no return), my car being stolen, suffering from panic attacks, falling into a period of depression fueled by post-election stress and unsure where to take my art. It’s all there, the big bits and the little bits,  wrapped up in themselves, fighting for your attention.
