Finding Peace in the Chaos




Just breathe. Despite this phrase ringing in my head over and over, I can’t help but think there’s something else I should be doing, someone else trying to get into my home, something else to distract me. Shortly after my panic attacks began, I took up meditation. After 2 months of doing it, I began to find peace and calm like I hadn’t felt in years. When I combined that with a daily yoga practice, I felt like I had been drugged. I was calm, I wasn’t anxious, I wasn’t angry about everything. Inevitably something took me out of that practice, and I fight each day to get back there again, knowing at first, when I close my eyes, this is what I’ll see.
